Resilient Exercise! Replacing Resolution Collapse With Lasting Success Among Your Clients
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM ET
Despite the best of intentions, exercise-focused New Year’s resolutions often fall prey to “resolution collapse.” For health and wellness professionals, the key to helping clients and employees adopt healthy behaviors in sustainable ways has also remained elusive. Frustratingly, even when our efforts are theoretically and scientifically supported, they still often fail to help our clients achieve lasting changes in behavior. That’s why, with so many clients truly hoping to uphold their New Year’s resolutions, now is the ideal time for coaches and wellness professionals to ask ourselves what we can do better to support them.
In this workshop, Dr. Michelle Segar, author of No Sweat and The Joy Choice, will reveal the hidden barriers that thwart most people’s efforts to adopt healthy lifestyles in sustainable ways. She will offer intriguing new insights about how to cultivate behavioral resiliency based on emerging research findings. This workshop will provide tools, tactics, and hands-on opportunities for health and wellness professionals to guide clients toward strategic mindset shifts, helping them identify as physically active and successfully integrate consistent movement into daily life.
Attendees will also discover that the featured content and tools in this workshop are not limited to exercise—these ideas can also be applied across self-care behaviors and behavior change contexts. Attendees will leave this session excited about what they learned and equipped with new insights and tools to put that knowledge to work.
